Date, Chocolate, and Rose Water Truffles

Sublime chocolate and rose water truffles. These are made to be consumed slowly and with no regrets. Sweetened with the deep caramel flavor of dates, they melt in your mouth at once. Here is an instant recipe for instant pleasure.

INGREDIENTS/ MAKES 8 TRUFFLES

6 medjoul dates, pitted
2 tablespoons cocoa powder, plus more for coating
4 tablespoons almond butter
pinch salt
1 teaspoon coconut oil
1/2 teaspoon rose water

METHOD

Combine all of the ingredients in a food processor and blitz until a smooth paste forms and comes together into a ball. Roll the mixture into balls and coat with cocoa powder. Enjoy with a fine cup of tea.

Store in an airtight container for up to a week.

    The photo alone on this post is gorgeous! And love the ingredients list: simple and healthy. And now have to be possibly less healthy and ask ;), is there anything else one could use in place of dates? Curious about alternatives, but assume would simply be more chocolate? Would love to make these as gifts!

      Thank you so much, darling Lara! Dates are what make these ‘faux truffles’ bind together. However, I’ve made another version with good quality 70% dark chocolate bars, coconut milk, rose water, and sometimes honey or maple syrup for sweetness. I’ll record the recipe for an upcoming post! Xx
